Antibiotics are medicines widely used not only in therapy but also in the prophylaxis of the bacterial infections; their use during the passed post-operating is from much time widely spread in the surgical departments. Aim of this study is that to give a retrospective sight of the use of antibiotics and in particular to supply a comparative experience on two drugs: Augmentin (amoxicillin - clavulanic acid) versus Glazidim (ceftazidime) taking under in examination a champion of patients recovered in opened regimens of election. Various clinicians trials showed like the antibiotic prophylaxis associated to a correct procedure result effective in reduction of the incidence of infections of surgical wound. The use of a correct antibiotic prophylaxis has been demonstrated in a position to that is reducing the incidence of the post-operative infections in statistically manner. We have to consider the effectiveness of antibiotics in reducing the post-operative infections in case of some criteria are respected , and mainly the effective presence of concentrations in the woven at the moment of the bacterial contamination, that is during the surgical participation and in successive the 4 hours. The International Literature is unanimous in emphasizing the effectiveness of outlined antibiotic with administering in the pre-operative period (and however within 2 hours from the surgical cut) or at the moment of the induction of the anaesthesia, with not meaningful statistically differences if in the post-operative one it comes given a placebo or continued the antibiotic therapy. In agreement with all the International Literature , our study evinces that the difference of effects between these 2 drugs analyzed is not such to concur us to prefer one to the other, not being to us statistically meaningful differences between the 2 champions taken under investigation.
