CICLOPIA IN UN AGNELLO: CONTRIBUTO CASISTICO

Cyclopia is a malformation characterised by a single median orbital fossa, with a normal or rudimentary single globe, or two complete close or fused eyes, sometimes absent too. Aim of the paper is to further contribute to the knowledge of such malformation describing the morphological features occasionally found in cyclopean-type lamb. Grossly the lamb showed distortion or absence of some facial bones, monocular cyclopia and CNS changes. In conclusion, the authors discuss about the possible pathogenic mechanisms involved in the development of this condition.
