Abstract
Supramolecular polymers have been obtained by harnessing the mutual attraction between calix[5]arenes and alkylammonium ions.1,2 Self-assembly of bis-calix[5]arenes and α,ω-decyldiammonium ions have produced AA/BB-type oligomers,3 whereas calix[5]arenes bearing a dodecylammonium pendant chain have yielded AB-type polymers whose average molecular weight was found to be anion-dependent.4 The latest results on multi-site monomers, designed to override adverse ion-pairing effects and enable formation of chiral polymers, will be presented.File in questo prodotto:
