The article critically reviews and comments the book "The Euro at Ten: The Next Global Currency?" edited by J. Pisani-Ferry and A.Posen. The main question: Is the Euro the next global currency? is discussed and analyzed by the various contributors of the volume. The present article carries on the argument that despite the skepticism on the expanding role of the Euro as global currency, the domestic success and the increasing global usage of the euro is nearly inevitable, as well as in the world’s common interest.
