The prepn. of V-P catalysts from V2O5/H3PO4/benzyl- and iso-Bu alcs. trapped between the layers of the phosphate structure, which provoke disorder disorder in the plane of layer stacking. During the successive calcination, a pseudomorphic (VO)2P2O7 forms with corresponding disorder in the plane of layer stacking. Disorder in this plane influences, the catalytic activity in butane selective oxidn. and the redox properties of the catalyst, both modifying the rate of V(IV) oxidn. to V(V) and the reducibility of the catalyst in a flow of 1% butane/air. During calcination the alc. probably induces the formation of local structural deformations which are responsible for the increase of activity in butane, but not in 1-butene, selective oxidn. on the catalysts prepd. in an org. solvent as compared with those prepd. by pptn. in an aq. solvent. Abstract
The prepn. of V-P catalysts from V2O5/H3PO4/benzyl- and iso-Bu alcs. trapped between the layers of the phosphate structure, which provoke disorder disorder in the plane of layer stacking. During calcination the alc. probably induces the formation of local structural deformations which are responsible for the increase of activity in butane, but not in 1-butene, selective oxidn. on the catalysts prepd. in an org. solvent as compared with those prepd. by pptn. in an aq. solvent.
