Surface properties of a low-content V catalyst, prepd. by grafting a high-surface-area TiO2 support, were studied by diffusion reflectance, ESR, and Fourier-transform IR spectroscopy and temp.-programmed desorption and its catalytic activity by butadiene oxidn. The grafting reaction of V occurs on all surface OH groups of TiO2, leaving exposed Ti4+. V sites are isolated on the surface and have labile oxidative and coordinative states. Moreover, they interact cooperatively with Ti sites. Evidence for other V species (surface, interstitial, or reticular) was not found. [on SciFinder(R)]

Abstract
[on SciFinder(R)]File in questo prodotto:
