Abstract

The fundamental question that is problematized in this contribution is why the racism is re-appeared in Europe during the historical age of great interconnections between populations on earth and of various opening to the economic marketing, where intercultural relationships are intensified and concepts as “race” and “superiority” have been dismissed. It does exists, in fact, a racism “without race” or “after” race (as we can read in many titles of books) that explodes in violent demonstrations. So we believe useful questioning on the meaning assumed today by anti-racism, that means by that intellectual and moral device characterized by the repulsion of every form of racial violence, that is even an indispensable orientation of democratic policy, adopted by liberal Countries for contrasting racism and its hateful demonstrations. In light of new forms of racism, based above all on the exclusion of minority groups, they are emerging important methodological indications that guide those who work in the social. It’s important, in fact, to understand that racism and capitalism are an indivisible binomial and that globalization is the new accentuation of the occidental capitalism: it, in other words, perpetuates the maintenance of unequal relationships, exclusion, so that it can exploit the minorities (low costs, few protections etc.). We believe, however, that only good governments are able to find right directions, as it has been in the past, when racism was fought supporting the declaration of human rights, promulgating anti-racist laws and anti-discrimination policies, establishing committees on equal opportunities and so on.
