Collisions of very heavy nuclei in the 197Au + 197Au system were studied at the energy of 15 Mev/nucleon. Main re-separation modes of this super-heavy system (which certainly cannot fuse) were investigated. Main reaction modes: binary strongly damped collisions and ternary reactions resembling non -equilibrium, almost co-linear partitions of the colliding 197 Au + 197 Au system have been observed by using a multi-detector system CHIMERA at LNS Catania. The experimental results are compared with predictions of the Molecular Dynamics model of Lukasik. The time scale of the observed ternary reseparation mode is much shorter than predicted theoretically.

Abstract
Collisions of very heavy nuclei in the 197Au + 197Au system were studied at the energy of 15 Mev/nucleon. Main re-separation modes of this super-heavy system (which certainly cannot fuse) were investigated. Main reaction modes: binary strongly damped collisions and ternary reactions resembling non -equilibrium, almost co-linear partitions of the colliding 197 Au + 197 Au system have been observed by using a multi-detector system CHIMERA at LNS Catania. The experimental results are compared with predictions of the Molecular Dynamics model of Lukasik. The time scale of the observed ternary reseparation mode is much shorter than predicted theoretically.Pubblicazioni consigliate
