This article acknowledges the great worth of J.-M. Auwers’s edition (CCh.SG 67) of Procopius of Gaza’s Epitome on the Song of Songs, accompanied by a monograph by the same author concerning the interpretation of this biblical book. Various observations and theories are here proposed. Within the sphere of studies on Greek exegetic catenae on the Song of Songs, the editor shows an uncommon mastery of the complex technical tools required of scholars in the field of catenic ecdotics.

Abstract
