I giovani tra sete di niente e sete di tutto. Quando la sfida diventa sfidarsi

Riassunto Oggi i giovani si trovano immersi in un mondo che nientifica i loro veri bisogni e li illude promettendo che la felicità si trova nell’acquisto di un oggetto sempre nuovo, nella popolarità sui social o, peggio ancora, nello sfidarsi in prove crudeli ed autolesive. Tutto questo non li prepara ad affrontare la vita e a dare un significato pieno alla loro esistenza, ma li svuota e li frantuma. In realtà, dietro questa ricerca spasmodica di visibilità e queste prove di “coraggio” sta una grande sete: la richiesta di senso, di significatività e di pienezza che, forse, gli adulti non sanno più dare né trovare. Today young people find themselves immersed in a world that annuls their true needs and deceives them that happiness lies in the purchase of an ever new object, in popularity on social networks or, worse still, in challenging each other in cruel trials and self-injurious. All this does not prepare them to face life and give full meaning to their existence, but it empties and shatters them. Actually, behind this spasmodic search for visibility and these trials of “courage” there is their real thirst: the request for meaning, significance and fullness that, perhaps, adults no longer know how to give or find.
