Nuove ricerche nel territorio di Cetraro: per un quadro aggiornato della presenza brettia nel medio Tirreno cosentino

Il contributo analizza le ultime ricerche territoriali nell'area di Cetraro (CS), mettendo in evidenza la presenza del popolamento brettio (IV-III sec. a.C.). The paper tries to describe the framework of Brettian population in the area between Acquappesa and Cetraro, on the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza. In this area, already research object in the past, it was discovered the presence of farms (dated between the end of IV century BC and the beginning of III century BC) scattered along the Aron river. The researches (1995-2001) documented three farms and a necropolis, at least, in the area of Treselle of municipality of Cetraro. The last archaeological researches (2015) interested a big kiln that produced bricks during the Brettian age, on a hilly area used for the same production up today. During the medieval and post-medieval age Cetraro’s territory was a possession of Montecassino abbey; In its big rural area a settlement and production system will develop and organize around the Church.
