The Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) risk for milk and milk products has been discussed by scientific groups, risk assessment bodies and public health organizations. Research has focused predominantly on the bovine species, while data on small ruminants, particularly goats, are limited. In view of the new scientific perspective and considering the potential implications for the policies for prevention, control and eradication of TSE in small ruminants, it would be appropriate requesting the European Community to update the current risk assessments on the topic. Abstract

The AA. analyse the current EC legislation
