Reliability of polarization resistance (Rp) probes embedded in reinforced concrete structures has been evaluated. Corrosion initiation and repassivation during the evolution of localized corrosion processes significantly influence corrosion rate (CR) measurements. Evaluation by visual observation of the actual condition of metal surface after corrosion tests emphasized once again the issue of CR interpretation in view of structure service life assessment. Abstract
Results obtained in laboratory on bench scale concrete samples were critically compared with measurements carried out on real scale applications on reinforced concrete structures built along the E62 and E25 Italian highways.Pubblicazioni consigliate
