The funerary chapel of Arciconfraternita of Catalani is located in Messina’s monumental graveyard and, for several decades, lied in a state of abandonment which caused the fall of the roof and part of the vaults of the burial niches and the progressive overturning of two columns of the porch with its overlying masonries. It has expressed the need by Arciconfraternita for the restoration of the building leading it to its original purpose. The project regards the consolidation of the masonries and restoration of the stone surfaces that concern the entire main facade. The main purpose of the operation is preserving, as much as possible, the structure and the original static of the XIXth century factory, therefore the consolidation of masonries will be realized with passive antiseism system made up of steel chains with plates and bolts. A soft restoration of stone surfaces, aimed to their conservation, avoiding external adds of lost parts is also contemplated. Therefore surfaces will be conserved in their actual state.

Abstract
Therefore surfaces will be conserved in their actual state.Pubblicazioni consigliate
