In many european cities the edification between the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th used different languages: on one side the theoretical formulations whose outcome was realized in pure volumes, on the other where experienced new materials in order to simulate carved stones that had characterized the architectonic plastic until then. Abstract
In many european cities the edification between the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th used different languages: on one side the theoretical formulations whose outcome was realized in pure volumes, on the other where experienced new materials in order to simulate carved stones that had characterized the architectonic plastic until then. The aim was to assure a low cost architectonic quality using stuccoes that simulated more valuable materials. In various points of Europe, anyway, it is possible to witness the use of materials, techniques and solutions suggested from the physical and anthropic characteristics of each hinterland. In Messina, for example, after the earthquake of 1908, but also in Paris or Budapest, where used pastes to which was entrusted the task to transmit the image of the building in the city context. The globalization helped the spreading of prepared premanifactured often hardly compatible with historical buildings, so the use of premanifactured materials used in maintenance operations, has sometimes altered the original message of the architecture. A didactic experience carried out in the Engeenering faculty of the University of Messina in 2009-10 and dedicated to the study of residential buildings reconstructed after the earthquake has underlined the requirement to apply surveying protocols from which to derive the plan of the partecipations remaining faithful to the goal of the conservation of the authenticity of the historical matter in reason of the specific requirements that often collide with this objective. In fact, if the quality of the plan on the built soil is certainly the product of the planner experience, it is true that, in order to be profitable for our descendants a code that allow meanings and values inside the architecture, it is necessary to use specific protocols of investigations on which to found the project. The workshop occasion could allow a verification if, and in which measure, such protocols should be different in reason of specific peculiarities (in Messina and Bucharest) in order to pursue suitable goals to continue the original tradition of the single building or of its insertion in the city context considering the use destination and the specific problems of the division of the property.Pubblicazioni consigliate
