The paper aims to analyse golf tourism opportunities in Sicily. In the specific, this area in recent years has created innovative and modern golf facilities to ensure customers’ satisfaction and to differentiate itself from national and international competitors. The basic idea is that golf tourism can be of particular relevance for the positioning strategies of Sicily, offering an interesting value proposition that can also be a solution to face seasonality problems. The first results from a research, at an early stage, show that golf tourism has effectively extended the tourism seasonality, revealing presences in periods of the year rarely considered by the traditional demand based on sun and sea. The works develops a qualitative methodology aimed to present the conceptual framework and to illustrate the preliminary results.
