The idea of a relationship between brain asymmetry (or, rather, between the functional hemispheric indecision), left-handedness and specific learning disorder (dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia) is certainly not new even if, this theoretical hypothesis can’t still find the agreement of many researchers. However, if we look at the experimental evidence on specific language impairment (SLI), or observation in the classroom for children with specific learning disorder (SLD) – in Anglophone specialist literature listed as specific learning disorder (SLD) or learning disabilities (LD) – i.e. the empirical experiences described by teachers in elementary schools, this relationship tends to be very marked. In this study, we sought to check the higher incidence of dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia in left-handed children, through the administration of a structured questionnaire to a sample of Italian elementary school teachers.

Abstract
In this study, we sought to check the higher incidence of dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia in left-handed children, through the administration of a structured questionnaire to a sample of Italian elementary school teachers.Pubblicazioni consigliate
