Scopo del presente contributo è quello di analizzare alcune modalità di contestualizzazione e comprensione di frustoli lirici nel loro contesto, attraverso l'esempio di P.Oxy. 2624, che racchiude 56 frustoli da uno o più rotoli di papiro. Il pezzo, ascritto al II sec. d.C., fu assegnato dubitanter da E. Lobel (The Oxyrhynchus Papyri, Part XXXII, London 1967, 91-114) a Simonide, e a Pindaro da M. van der Weiden (P.Oxy. 2624: a New Fragment of Pindar? “ZPE” 64, 1986, 15-32). Una revisione dell'originale e nuove proposte di dislocazione dei frustoli consentono di compiere nuovi passi in avanti nella ricostrzuione della sequenza dei frammenti e di gettare nuova luce sullo stesso testo lirico. In this paper I address some modalities for conceptualizing (or understanding) lyric scraps in their context. The case-study is P.Oxy. 2624, a group of 56 second-century papyrus fragments (from one or more rolls), which was tentatively assigned to Simonides by E. Lobel (The Oxyrhynchus Papyri, Part XXXII, London 1967, 91-114) and to Pindar by M. van der Weiden (P.Oxy. 2624: a New Fragment of Pindar? “ZPE” 64, 1986, 15-32). A new scrutiny of the evidence and new arrangement of the scraps allows us to make a valuable progress in the reconstruction of the sequence of the fragments and to shed more light on the text itself.
