The goal of this paper is to highlight that the confiscation of assets to organized crime is a way to create “social capital”. It shows that in many municipalities of Southern Italy, characterized by the presence of confiscated property and reused, there is greater consensus for political programs with issues concerning the “legality”. The “Probit” analysis takes into consideration a sample of 542 Italian municipalities.
