This study aims to present the introductory framework of a collaborative project between Necmettin Ercaban University, Turkey, and the University of Pisa, Italy. By this study, as two researchers from the above mentioned universities, we intend to expand our four previous researches, conducted in the last ten years, concerning the ethno-religious and cultural dimension, as well as security related issues and migration patterns and demographic changes in Eastern Anatolia.

Abstract
