The present work aims at analyzing the meaning and value that the trauma plays in children development and its effects on their adaptive school functioning. The trauma is an event that can impact in many directions and, specifically, on self perception, on interpersonal relationships and school success. In this last case, the discomfort can interfere with the capacity of information processing because of dysfunctional cognitive processes, can decrease concentration, memory, and language skills. Hence the importance of the psychological and educational intervention, based on a solid alliance toward family, school, and local services in order to set up a flexible educational project, which is built on solid interdisciplinary bases of theory and practice. What will happen to the extent that the school context is supportive and guided by teachers who know what trauma effects and its role on children development.
