The territorial and environmental context in which tourism is conducted often suffers from excessive proliferation of business in a given place, which has effects that aren’t always positive. This is why there have been efforts over the last few years to adapt tourism to cultural and economic change following the evolution of new forms of development going beyond the traditional in tending to the needs not only of people today but also those of tomorrow and husbanding our resources, sustainable development. This has inevitably created the need to create forms of tourism that respect the environment and territory by also taking into account the objectives of sustai- nable development. So we’re seeing an evolution in the demand for tourism, which is starting to follow models that are more sensitive to the principles of environmental and social sustainability and can guarantee better, more effective use of available natural resources. This is accompanied by concern over environmental issues. The growth of nature tourism has benefitted from economic crisis but also from people’s greater environmental sensibility and discovery of sustainable tourism based on day–trip destinations and low spending. Tourism statistics for the city of Acireale and, above all, analysis of visitor flows through R.N.O. La Timpa help to explain the importance of this form of tourism focused on the natural aspects of a territory.

Abstract
La Timpa help to explain the importance of this form of tourism focused on the natural aspects of a territory.Pubblicazioni consigliate
