This chapter is organized into five sections. In the first section, we have introduced the topics of this chapter. In section 6.2, an overview of recent neuropsychological models of ADHD is provided. Section 6.3 provides new evidence on the presence of a deficit in automatic processes in ADHD. In section 6.4, we propose a new theoretical framework of ADHD. In section 6.5, we discuss the new theoretical proposal and suggest future research to validate the automatic hypothesis deficit in ADHD.
