Persistent nasal obstruction is the most frequent symptom that leads patients to request an ENT evaluation and the deviation of nasal septum is one of the most common causes. Modern septoplasty is a more conservative technique based on the preservation and reconstruction of the different septal units. This surgery can be performed in classic way with frontal light and with endoscopic approach. Outcomes and overall complication rates are comparable. The endoscopic approach offers advantages compared with traditional technique such as the good visualization of anatomy, associated with a low risk of septum mucosa tear up and the educational purposes of both resident and staff.

Abstract
Persistent nasal obstruction is the most frequent symptom that leads patients to request an ENT evaluation and the deviation of nasal septum is one of the most common causes. Modern septoplasty is a more conservative technique based on the preservation and reconstruction of the different septal units. This surgery can be performed in classic way with frontal light and with endoscopic approach. Outcomes and overall complication rates are comparable. The endoscopic approach offers advantages compared with traditional technique such as the good visualization of anatomy, associated with a low risk of septum mucosa tear up and the educational purposes of both resident and staff.Pubblicazioni consigliate
