The research aims to investigate labour productivity in some traditional Italian manufacturing sector, verifying whether and how socio–environmental (Equitable and Sustainable Well–being indicators) and managerial (such as exportations rate and investment per employee) factors may influence it. A finite mixture regression models shows that regions follow three labour productivity process and that the characteristics of the regions such as economic well–being, innovation, research and creativity and the safety of citizens affect the entire differently the economic performance, determining the typical gaps of the Italian regions.
