This chapter discusses the relationship between gender and disability in the context of sustainable development goals and with a specific focus on the tourism and hospitality industry. Considering its conceptual nature, the chapter provides a brief literature review of the two topics based on the Scopus database. The aim is to assess potential implementation gaps between theory and practice in gender-oriented policies developed in the tourism and hospitality industries. The study highlights the multidimensional nature of the selected topics. A fruitful strand of future research could be that of calculative practices, accounting, and accountability (i.e., budgets, financial reports, integrated reporting) wherein various diversity dimensions (such as gender and disability) could be included to pave the way toward an improved strategic orientation and organizational well-being of the firms.

The aim is to assess potential implementation gaps between theory and practice in gender-oriented policies developed in the tourism and hospitality industries. The study highlights the multidimensional nature of the selected topics. A fruitful strand of future research could be that of calculative practices, accounting, and accountability (i.e., budgets, financial reports, integrated reporting) wherein various diversity dimensions (such as gender and disability) could be included to pave the way toward an improved strategic orientation and organizational well-being of the firms.Pubblicazioni consigliate
