The First Volume of the project, which documents, illustrates and discusses the research conducted on three sites in Sicily, whose archaeological and architectural heritage is characterised by the presence of local stone materials, is set out as follows: Chapter 1: Oligo–Miocene yellow–ochre Sandstone in the Greek–Roman Archaeological Site (IV century BC – IV century AD) of Tindari (Central–Northern Sicily); −− Chapter 2: Oligo–Miocene grey Sandstone in the Sacred Gothic–Renaissance Architecture (XII–XVIII centuries) of Novara di Sicilia (North–Eastern Sicily); Chapter 3: Proterozoic Meta––ultramafites and Palaeozoic Metamafites (Green Rocks) in the Sacred Norman–Gothic Architecture (XII–XIV centuries) of the Cathedral of Messina (North–East Sicily).
