Abstract

Every day, the surface of the Earth is observed and monitored by hundreds of artificial satellites operating in orbit at different altitudes and collecting very large quantities of heterogeneous data. The analysis and multi-purpose use of these data are among the great challanges in an increasingly digital society. Satellites can affect safety, security, cybersecurity and sustainable development of transport. The application of United Nations Outer Space Treaties is necessary to resolve issues of legal responsibility in that regard.
