This paper attempts to provide a study of some aspects of the agricultural labour organisation in Mesopotamia during the Old Babylonian period, based on evidence originating from a particular kind of administrative documents, the labels. The period here considered referring mainly to the period of the First Dynasty of Babylonia, from the reign of Hammurabi (1792–1750 B.C.) until the reign of Samsu-ditana (1625–1595 B.C.). The data obtained from the previously published labels is added here to the publication of a small label dealing with harvesters kept at the British Museum.
