Designing, producing, and interpreting digital textualities in English is essential in the current learning mediascapes. Interpretative and metareflective skills in video-mediated communication should be encouraged within an integrated multimodal approach (Sindoni, 2013; Vasta & Baldry, 2020), so as to improve intercultural digital communication (Sindoni et al., 2019; Ørevik & Diamantopoulo, 2021). In this chapter, students’ interpretations of video-mediated communication are explored in terms of their metareflective abilities, e.g., the ability to self-reflect when making sense of interactions in English in multi- and translingual contexts.

Abstract
Designing, producing, and interpreting digital textualities in English is essential in the current learning mediascapes. Interpretative and metareflective skills in video-mediated communication should be encouraged within an integrated multimodal approach (Sindoni, 2013; Vasta & Baldry, 2020), so as to improve intercultural digital communication (Sindoni et al., 2019; Ørevik & Diamantopoulo, 2021). In this chapter, students’ interpretations of video-mediated communication are explored in terms of their metareflective abilities, e.g., the ability to self-reflect when making sense of interactions in English in multi- and translingual contexts.Pubblicazioni consigliate
