Lobbying has become a very important phenomenon in the modern political process in every part of the world. The European Community lags behind the U.S. in the diffusion of lobbies but recently has seen an explosion in the growth of lobbying. The current increase in the presence of U.S. lobbying organizations in the EU has called attention not only to how lobbying is conducted but whether it is beneficial or harmful, and how lobbying may be influencing EU governnment policy formation based on the use of communication and persuasion tactics used by U.S. lobbies. This work examines the communication and cultural aspects of lobbying.
