The paper represents a first study on the relations between Sicilian and Calabrian Jews. Between the two shores, divided by the Strait of Messina, Jews traded the most varied merchandise, among which silk played a leading role. Along with goods, ideas also travelled, as evidenced by the mutual influence in the publishing of liturgical books and the presence in Sicilian libraries of works printed in Calabria.
