The study of cuneiform documentation can be a fundamental instrument for reconstructing history, especially small fragments of it. In fact, sometimes, in the absence of other historical sources, the study of texts, namely the economic and administrative ones, especially if unpublished, proves to be central also to rebuilding historical facts of great importance. To this effect, I will present here how – through a growing group of texts kept in many museums all over the world – it has been possible to reconstruct the reign of a previously unknown king, Rīm-Anum, by connecting his reign with other Old Babylonian kingdoms.

Abstract
The study of cuneiform documentation can be a fundamental instrument for reconstructing history, especially small fragments of it. In fact, sometimes, in the absence of other historical sources, the study of texts, namely the economic and administrative ones, especially if unpublished, proves to be central also to rebuilding historical facts of great importance. To this effect, I will present here how – through a growing group of texts kept in many museums all over the world – it has been possible to reconstruct the reign of a previously unknown king, Rīm-Anum, by connecting his reign with other Old Babylonian kingdoms.File in questo prodotto:
