It is intended to reconstruct, through some examples, peculiar aspects of the speculative ferment of the sixteenth century around Poetica of Aristotle, illustrating the ways through which the scholars of the time studied the test of the greek philosopher for the purpose of the canonisation of theatrical genres, which gives to the Poetica the connotation of doctrinal model, but also legitimates theoretical choices and scenic applications not fully contemplated in the test of the Stagirita.
