The paper aims to analyse the impact of the double crises (Covid-19 pandemic and Russia - Ukraine war) on European identity among university students from Central and Southern Europe. The explorative analysis, based on an online survey, focused on young students’ attitudes or opinions towards the EU which involve the friction between national perspective and stronger integration to tackle the global threats. The participants view the European space as a suitable platform for resolving complex issues and managing crises, moving beyond the mere symbolic interpretation of political or cultural markers. Instead, they favour an idea of a united Europe that emerges from their daily experiences, transcending the geographical and cultural differences of young respondents.

Abstract
The paper aims to analyse the impact of the double crises (Covid-19 pandemic and Russia - Ukraine war) on European identity among university students from Central and Southern Europe. The explorative analysis, based on an online survey, focused on young students’ attitudes or opinions towards the EU which involve the friction between national perspective and stronger integration to tackle the global threats. The participants view the European space as a suitable platform for resolving complex issues and managing crises, moving beyond the mere symbolic interpretation of political or cultural markers. Instead, they favour an idea of a united Europe that emerges from their daily experiences, transcending the geographical and cultural differences of young respondents.Pubblicazioni consigliate
