This contribution explores the role of education in promoting a culture of peace within educational contexts as a tool to combat inequality and educational poverty. Through the empirical project Amahoro-Peace, the paper underscores the importance of developing non-violent conflict resolution skills, fostering social justice, and nurturing positive rela tionships in educational settings. It highlights the multidimensionality of poverty and the need for educational interventions to address mate rial, emotional, and social deprivation. The study draws on the theore tical frameworks of peace education, emphasizing its potential to create a more equitable and peaceful society, particularly in vulnerable communities. The research conducted at the University of L’Aquila du ring the COVID-19 emergency period surveyed future educators on their perceptions of peace, revealing strong commitments to solidarity, justice, and community welfare. Ultimately, the paper advocates for education as a transformative force in cultivating peace and empowering individuals to become active agents of social change.
