In 2022, from the collaboration between the Department of Engineering and the BIOMORF Department of the University of Messina, a questionnaire aimed at sifting through the correlated factors between Sick House Syndrome (SHS) and clinical-psychiatric aspects was produced. The purpose of this new study is to analyze how certain data extrapolated from the questionnaire (such as population density, building layout, and presence of green spaces) align or not with the findings in the literature in terms of influence, risk perception (physical and psychological), and level of discomfort of residents (permanent) and users (temporary). From the targeted surveys, conducted through interdisciplinary research, an analysis of the factors, both physical and environmental, that may influence citizens’ perceptions of well-being, indoor and outdoor, was carried out, so that we could understand what relationships exist between settlement quality and environmental well-being, both physical and psychological, of residents.
