In this chapter, the author addresses the construction of his research on the memories of a labor community about the Argentine dictatorship that began in 1976. Based on the analysis of the initial hypotheses, questions, and expectations, the author describes how the encounters with the interviewees changed and impacted his research and himself in methodological, political, and ethical terms.
