The article analyzes the digital activism carried out by the Spanish educational association AfroDiccionario from its founding in 2018 to December 2023. The association promotes a revision of the Spanish language lexicon through the creation of neologisms and the re-semantization of terms and expressions that discriminate against people of African descent. Based on a corpus consisting of publications and their comments on AfroDiccionario’s Instagram platform, this study highlights how the linguistic strategies employed by the association operate and the political function they serve, aimed at the empowerment and strengthening of the Spanish-speaking Afro-descendant community, both in digital and physical spaces. The critical tools used to analyze the corpus draw in particular on approaches proposed within the field of critical discourse studies (Wodak 2011; Van Dijk 2008; Fairclough 2018), as well as cultural studies (Hall 1982) and studies on digital activism (Florini 2020).

Abstract
The critical tools used to analyze the corpus draw in particular on approaches proposed within the field of critical discourse studies (Wodak 2011; Van Dijk 2008; Fairclough 2018), as well as cultural studies (Hall 1982) and studies on digital activism (Florini 2020).Pubblicazioni consigliate
