As well known, the solution to the inverse tangent problem was at the basis of Leibniz’s conception of infinitesimal calculus. Historically, such a problem involved the introduction of constructions overcoming Euclid’s and Descartes’ ideal geometric tools. As presented in the ESU-9 congress, a new artifact called T-integraph was conceived and built for hands-on activities on these topics. We propose some related educational activities after briefly recalling relevant historical contents and introducing the new artifact. The artifact is built with digital construction tools to enhance replicability, and the source files (together with assembling instructions) are freely available online.
