The paper analyzes the new forms of cognitive and cultural inequality generated by the expansion of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Through pedagogical reflection, the transition from digital literacy to algorithmic illiteracy is outlined, a condition in which citizens know how to use the tools but do not understand the logic that governs them. This gap produces a "world divided in two": on the one hand, the subjects capable of interpreting and governing AI, and, on the other, those who are subjected to AI-driven decisions. The essay proposes an educational vision based on critical literacy, digital humanism and civic responsibility, indicating schools and universities as key places for the development of a conscious and inclusive citizenship in the era of in telligent automation.
