In increasingly complex and heterogeneous educational contexts, teacher professionalism plays a crucial role in fostering knowledge and transferable skills beyond the school setting. Teaching effectiveness goes beyond subject-matter expertise and involves the ability to understand students’ educational needs and to adopt flexible, participatory methodologies. The paper offers a critical analysis of current initial and in-service teacher training policies, emphasizing the urgent need for structured professional development and educational leadership pathways to enhance teaching quality and support student success.
