Embodied Clinical Pragmatics and Language Development: Autism and Jordan’s Syndrom

Through a dialogue between clinical pragmatics, philosophy of language, cognitive science, and embodied approaches, this volume explores the role of communication in development, atypicality, and ageing. The collected contributions examine language across the lifespan, addressing neurodevelopmental conditions, psychosis, cognitive decline, and neurodegeneration. Within this framework, pragmatics is not regarded as a peripheral domain of linguistic inquiry, but rather as a crucial perspective for understanding the embodied, intersubjective, and situated nature of language.
