The paper shows some results of a wider and in progress research about the role and the tasks of the Sicilian Deputazione del Regno from 1567 to 1812. It is a research that wants to point out an important aspect in the Sicilian institutional and political history that the current historiography has substantially disregarded even if a particular attention was given to those topics that are linked to the institutional dynamics of the Reign. Besides, the topic seems to be relevant because it can be insert in the complex debate that characterized the period between the Middle and the Modern Age and the relationship between the representative institutions and the monarchy, where Sicilian Deputazione del Regno had an important role.
