Abstract
The refrigeration industry has found itself caught up in environmental problems because of the use of certain types of refrigerating fluids which have considerable impact on the ozone layer and contribute to the phenomenon of global warming. The Montreal and Kyoto protocols, adopted from the point of view of sustainable development, set the objective of gradually reducing, and eventually banning, the use of certain environmentally hazardous substances, including those in use for decades as refrigerating fluids. In this work we trace the move towards environmental sustainability in the refrigeration sector, analyse the initiatives undertaken and examine the most promising technological developments.Pubblicazioni consigliate
