Abstract
The various theoretical formulations for the caJculation of conical disk springs are examined in detail showing the different conceptual statements, the simplifying hypothesis, the calculation accuracy and the practical applicability. The characteristic curves obtained analytically have been compared with the results furnished by a finite element model carri ed out with the commerciai FEM code ANSYS. This model allows the computation of some physical phenomena like friction, geometric and material nonlinearties, which exist in the real behaviour of the spring but they are not directly taken in account with a purely analytical approach. Results obtained in analytical way and in numerical way are finally compared with the experimental characteristic curve obtained for all the springs considered with a compression testing machine SCHENK RS 100.Pubblicazioni consigliate
