The effects of a different machine milking management on milk yield and composition were studied on twenty pluriparous asses, bred in an organic farm. Asses were divided into two groups subjected to two consecutive milkings with a different management: 20 vs. 4 hours interval between the two milkings, respectively for group A and group B. Milk yield was unaffected by the different milking management nor significant effects were observed on milk protein content. Adopted milking frequencies significantly influenced both the fat content and the hygienic quality of milk. Asses' body condition score was not affected by the management of milkings.

Abstract
The effects of a different machine milking management on milk yield and composition were studied on twenty pluriparous asses, bred in an organic farm. Asses were divided into two groups subjected to two consecutive milkings with a different management: 20 vs. 4 hours interval between the two milkings, respectively for group A and group B. Milk yield was unaffected by the different milking management nor significant effects were observed on milk protein content. Adopted milking frequencies significantly influenced both the fat content and the hygienic quality of milk. Asses' body condition score was not affected by the management of milkings.Pubblicazioni consigliate
