Many structures and machines are made up from components (rods, beam and plates) which are jointed together by welds, bolts or rivets. In this work the dynamics of assembled sandwich plates is based on the assumption of rigid joints. Sandwich plates, with skins in aluminium or in glass epoxy fibre, have been tested. The sandwich panels have been jointed using different shapes (L, Z and W). Several FEM simulation of corner joints have been made and the analytical natural frequencies and modes have been compared with the values of real structures. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of different FEM simulations of the cor-ner joint to obtain a good correspondence between analytical and experimental values of mo-dal analysis.
