We simulate by molecular dynamics the long time evolution of metastable phases for particles interacting via a spherical, short range pair potential. We analyse the dynamics of the first order phase transitions taking place in the system, as well as the relaxation processes by which the system anneals the extended defects generated during the first; stages of the phase transformations.

Abstract
