The aim of this paper is to describe the air pollution by carbon monoxide and particular matter in the Strait of Messina metropolitan area by hierarchical structure models. The results show high pollution levels throughout the area and in particular in the Villa San Giovanni, where the scale of emissions reductions with no record even on holidays and at night.
